Folding wings...hmmm, they usually do that all by themselves on impact! (Reminds me of the folding bike helmet that's on the market.) Not so sure a wing is a structure where you want hinges, but hey, I'm no mechanical engineer!
It's not the rocket cars we were promised as kids, that's for sure. But, it is a cool concept. As for the folding wings, they used them on fighters in WWII that had to land on carries. If they can hold up in a dogfight, I assume they'll work on an ultra-lite.
